Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Professional Pensions Academy is PMI (Pensions Management Institute) CPD accredited: Delegates can gain with up to 25 credits by attending.

By doing CPD you act to mitigate risk and enhance your skills and competences, enabling employers, stakeholders and clients to feel more confident in your abilities as a professional.

Additional reference tools for delegates at the Professional Pensions Academy will include:

  • A secure website, hosting audio copies of the presentations online running in conjunction with the presentation slides following the event
  • Distribution of an information pack at the conference containing an introduction / overview on each of the investment classes covered within the day

The investment classes to be covered are:

  • Equities

  • Hedge funds
  • Real Estate
  • Infrastructure
  • Currency
  • Insurance as an Asset Class
  • Commodities

Leading asset managers, will give delegates a thorough grounding in the key fundamentals of each asset class, through presentations and supporting reference materials, taking into account the pressures and issues that delegates face on a day to day level.

The PMI CPD scheme is relevant and responsive to individual learning needs and styles. The scheme is based on a four stage learning cycle of:

Audit - the process of identifying your learning needs
Plan - how to achieve the skills or knowledge identified
Implementation - doing the learning (reading, research, mentoring, etc)
Review - looking at how well you met your objectives and what other lessons were learned

The CPD year will continue to run from 1 January to 31 December each year.
